Depth Incremental Layers — Zones and Gates

Checked 2026-11-02 · Game snapshot: UPD4

Depth Incremental is organized as a pit of layers, and the official text promises a new boss, a higher step price, and something new to find as you go down. The developer has not published layer names or a total. depthincrementalgame.wiki says so in those words. Numbered areas are the pattern that does have evidence: Area 6 is a real label. A pretty name for layer three would be something I made up.

The two anchors

Section 1 is the opening of the pit. UPD4’s official developer event says the update added a huge final region to that section and called it the hardest stretch so far. Area 6 is a later gate: 3,000,000 cash and 150 worms, one source, attached to a video timestamp around 24:05. I do not know how many areas sit between them.

How a layer behaves

Use this page as the hub: fossils, worms, bosses, rebirth, and the calculator all hang off the same descent. When a layer earns a public name, it can have a row. Until then the row would only repeat this paragraph.

Questions

How many layers are there?

The developer has not published a count or a name list. I do not estimate one.

What did UPD4 add?

The official developer event, also quoted by the Depth Incremental Wiki, calls it a huge final region of Section 1 and the hardest section so far. The public updated time for that build is 1 Nov 2026.

Is falling fatal?

No. You return to the step where you slipped. Progress stays.
